Final days at Myrtle Beach

The last two days at the beach we spent lots of time at the beach and pool. The girls had so much fun riding the waves and jumping them. We dug some holes in the sand and made pools for Gregory to play in-he does not like the ocean. Alexa spent lots of time jumping in the pool and Maddy played around in the water. Today Gregory finally got in the big pool. He has been playing in the baby pool, but he actually got in the big pool today-just in time for us to go home. We had a great vacation and can't wait to come back!

Monkey bar pictures

Myrtle Beach II

On Monday my dad and Greg played golf in the morning. My mom and I took the kids to the park to start the day. Out of the blue, Alexa went all the way across the monkey bars. She has never been able to do that. Not long after Alexa did it, Maddy got up there and went across herself. They were both so proud of themselves-they did it over and over again. We then went to the beach for a little while. After lunch, the boys returned and we all went to the aquarium. The special exhibit this year is babies, so the girls really enjoyed it. Gregory slept through part of it, but woke up about half way through. All the kids got to pet a sting ray. We got there just in time for their feeding. Yesterday we went to the beach and the pool. Last night we took a walk on the beach and happened to see a fisherman catch a shark. We stopped and the kids touched the shark. It was really cool. Today, the boys golfed again, so my mom and I took the kids to the beach and the pool. The kids had a great time playing in the sand, but Alexa was a little apprehensive about the water after seeing the shark last night. We spent the afternoon playing miniature golf. Alexa had a great time and got two holes in one. We even found a turtle on the golf course. The kids loved it!

Myrtle Beach

Our first two days at the beach have been great. Yesterday we started out on the beach and it was a little cloudy. We ended up at the pool and it ended up so sunny. The kids had a great time, especially Alexa. She loves to swim and jump in the pool.
Today we spent most of the day on the beach. The girls had so much fun jumping in the waves. Daddy dug a big hole and all the kids played in it. After dinner, we went to the pool to swim. Alexa had a great time and Maddy really started swimming. It was a fun, but tiring day!

Last Day of School

Friday was the last day of school for the kids. They only went for half the day and we picked them up and headed for Myrtle Beach. Luckily there were no tears. After last year, I was sure we would have tears from Alexa.

Kindergarten Academy End of the Year Program

Madelynn's class along with two other kindergarten classes had a show for their parent's on Thursday. They sang lots of songs and had some picture slide shows. It was great. The kids did a great job and had lots of fun. Madelynn actually sang all the songs-last year she wouldn't open her mouth at all. The day ended by the kids giving Mrs. Lewis her photo book we had created and Mrs. Lewis gave each of the kids a scrapbook page she had made for them. It was a very special day.

Beach Day at Shepherdstown

The 1st grade at Shepherdstown had beach day on Thursday. The only problem was the rain. They proceeded indoors with story time, crafts and games. I read a book about bats at the beach to the kids and they all enjoyed it. It was a really cute book. They were supposed to have a picnic lunch outside, but with the rain it was back to the cafeteria. Alexa's class finally had a little outdoor recess until we got rained on. We gave Mrs. Arentz her planter the kids had created and all the great cards they had made. It was a fun day that ended with the movie Nemo. Alexa skipped the movie and came with me to see Maddy's performance.

Philadelphia Zoo

Alexa's class took a field trip to the Philadelphia Zoo on Monday the 1st. It was a long trip on a great bus. We didn't have a lot of time at the zoo, so we rushed through, but the kids had a great time. We saw lots of different animals and we made it to the gift shop, which was the highlight of the trip for lots of the kids.

Beach Day at the Kindergarten Academy

Madelynn had beach day at school today. She got to wear beachy clothes, sun glasses and a hat. She took a beach ball and towel. They were supposed to do some outdoor water activities, but the weather did not cooperate. Maddy said they played games and she had lots of fun.

Weekend in Hershey

We decided to spend the weekend in Hershey for a small getaway. The kids were so excited to stay in a hotel. We had a fun time. We spent a lot of time swimming. We played in the game room and the girls loved playing air hockey. We spent Saturday at Hershey Gardens and Chocolate World. Grammy and Papa across the street joined us for the garden and dinner. It was a really fun day. The kids loved seeing the butterflies and playing in the children's garden.

Brownie

Alexa's brownie troop had an end of the year program on Friday. The girls did a little skit to create the flag and they received their patches from the second half of the year. We all had pizza and other treats. The kids all had a great time running around and playing with all the other kids.
