Happy Birthday Grammy across the street

Today is Grammy's birthday. The girls were so excited. Grammy and Papa came over for dinner and cake, which the girls help prepare. They had so much fun helping her blow out the candles.

1st Day of School

The first day of school has finally arrived. Madelynn has been worried and crying for several days and Alexa had been counting down the minutes. This morning ran smoothly and everyone went into the school without tears. Alexa walked Madelynn to her classroom. After school, Alexa was the one with the tears and Madelynn was happy. That all changed at dinner tonight, when Madelynn broke down and continued crying until bedtime. She hates being away all day and is struggling. Hopefully things get better and soon!

Another visit from the tooth fairy

While I was at my appointment on Thursday, apparently the girls ran into each other and Maddy knocked out Alexa's 2 top teeth. One of them has been so loose, but no one could get it out. The permanent tooth was already in and growing. I was afraid she was going to end up having the baby tooth and the permanent tooth. The tooth next to it was also so loose, but we were so focused on the one that we hadn't messed much with it. I was so excited when I got home as was everyone else. Now I wonder what the chance is for losing two teeth in the same day twice. I wonder if she will lose 2 every time.

Nap time

On Thursday, the DeLand family came to hang out while I went to a doctor's appointment. The boys had a great time playing together. They went upstairs and when we went up to see what they were up to, they were both in Gregory's bed pretending to sleep. It was so cute.

Swimming

We went to Hershey to swim on Sunday. It was so nice. We were the only people there and it was nice to have the whole pool to ourselves. We had a picnic lunch in one of the gazebos. It was a really fun day and lots of fun!

Madelynn loses another tooth

Madelynn lost her 2nd tooth on August 16th. We knew it would come out soon, but we tried and tried and it wouldn't budge. Finally as I tucked her in, I decided to give it one last try. Much to my surprise and everyone else's I got it out. Since it was dark, no one believed me until I turned on the light to show them. Maddy could not wait for the tooth fairy to come!

Hula Girl

Alexa went to a birthday party and got a Hula outfit. Madelynn waited and waited until Alexa put it down and finally got to dress up. She was so excited and loved posing for the camera. She was a beautiful hula girl!

A day at the park

We joined the DeLand family and Grammy and Jackson at a really cool new park. The kids had a great time. It was hard keeping track of all the kids, but there were so many fun things for the kids to do and they really enjoyed it. We had a picnic lunch and finally left around 1, with a very hot and tired bunch of kids!

National Night Out

We went to Allenview for National Night out. There were fire trucks and a smoke house for the kids to practice getting out of a fire. They had a great time. Gregory loves fire trucks. He thinks he is big enough to drive one!

Madelynn loses her 1st tooth

Madelynn has had a loose tooth for quite some time. For the last couple of days it has been really loose and I was sure it would come out when she was eating. Grammy and I worked on it all afternoon. Alexa came home from golfing and she pulled it right out. Madelynn was so excited. She told everyone she saw the rest of the day. She wrote a note to the tooth fairy asking to keep her tooth. She can't wait to get her money!!

Family visit

Greg's family from Ohio came to visit for the weekend. His aunt, 2 cousins and their 5 kids spent the weekend visiting with us. We visited Hershey Gardens and Chocolate World. On Sunday we had a family picnic at Fisher Park. It was really fun visiting with Greg's extended family. The kids had a great playing with everyone. They ran around and played. The played with balloons and threw water balloons. We went to their hotel that evening and swam. It was so nice and relaxing for the kids to swim while the adults got to visit. It was a really fun weekend and the kids are asking if they can move to PA! That's the sign of a successful weekend.

Vacation Bible School

The kids attended VBS for a week. Gregory was finally old enough to attend and we were all excited for him to participate. He was so excited. He talked about it all day until it was time to go. The theme was construction and a playhouse was built to give to a habitat for humanity family. The kids made the curtains and window boxes for the playhouse. The kids had a great time and we were all sad to see it end.

Makeover

Aunt Jenna agreed to allow Alexa to do a total makeover on her. She did her nail, toes, make-up and hair. Aunt Jenna was a good sport. She allowed Alexa to use hot pink nail polish on her nails and toes. She let her use all the make-up she wanted. Alexa thought it was fabulous. After Alexa finished, she let Jenna do her hair and make-up to match and we all went to McDonald's for lunch. It was so much fun to see the pride in Alexa's face when she looked at her Aunt Jenna!
